The Block T-Shirt Design Contest: Enter To Win

    Views 2.12k

Submission deadline is May 1 at 11:59pm EDT.

The Block is approaching its one-year anniversary as an online publication, and we need a T-shirt to celebrate! … Well, really, we need some swag in general, so we thought this would be a great time to step our apparel game up 💯. If you’re a talented artist of color looking to showcase your skills (and make a little money in the process), you’re encouraged to enter.

    The Rules:

First things first—you gotta be all-in with our mission and that is to uplift and propel creative entrepreneurs of color who so often find their voices and work silenced or edited. If you read that and thought, “Oh, hell yeah!”—go follow us on Instagram, and then proceed to step two below.

Next, we (fittingly) want a T-shirt design that reflects what we’re about, so the contest theme is “For the Culture.” Dig into your creative bag to pull out something that reflects your interpretation of this.

The winner will receive all proceeds, minus our initial costs from T-shirt sales at the end of the quarter. You’ll also get a shoutout on our social media accounts, be featured in an article on itstheblock.com, and of course, you’ll get a free shirt with your winning design.

    Other important details:

    • The contest is open to U.S. residents who are at least 18 years old.
    • We don’t deal with fakes, so don’t copy or imitate a design or brand that already exists.
    • Your submission must get to us by May 1 at 11:59 p.m. EDT via the submission link. No exceptions.
    • Only submit one design. If you submit more than one design, we won’t look at any of them.
    • There’s no color limit, so go all out and make this design what you want it to be.
    • Participants must also choose the shirt color to best complement their design.

    The Selection Process:

    • All submitted designs will be judged by a panel.
    • During round 1, the top three designs are selected, based on who represented the contest theme best.
    • During round 2, these three designs will then be shared for the public to vote.
    • On May 5, 2021, the winner will be announced based on total number of votes from the community and panel input.

    And on that note…
