    It’s officially spring, and it feels like we’re finally getting a grip on the pandemic, which means more opportunity to get out and about in the Queen City. If you’re still taking it easy with the crowds, don’t worry! This list has virtual options, too.

    Small Space Sessions

    Constellation CLT featuring Georgie Nakima at the Mint Museum

    When: Ongoing through May 2

    Where: Mint Museum Uptown – 500 S Tryon St, Charlotte, NC

    Cost: Free admission on Wednesdays from 5-9 p.m.

    Native Charlottean and Northwest School of the Arts graduate Georgie Nakima (also known as Garden of Journey) will showcase the progression of her work in the Constellation CLT installation. Her murals are on display now at four locations around the Mint Museum. Learn more here.

    Lined with vendors, Not Just Coffee on Jay Street is the place you’ll want to be for a socially-distanced block party full of local artisans, and of course, coffee.

    Open Air: Artist Conversation with Chelle Barbour

    Open Air is a monthly series of virtual studio visits and intimate conversations with Black contemporary artists across the country. This month’s event is with Chelle Barbour, an artist and curate whose work is featured in the Harvey B. Gantt Center’s current exhibit “Vision & Spirit.” Gantt Center curator Dexter Wimberly will lead the conversation.
